Beehive Curriculum
Beehive's Reggio Emilia-inspired play-based philosophy has been refined and aligned to HISD, based on a review of the Texas Pre-Kindergarten Guidelines, Kindergarten TEKS, the HISD Pre-K curricula, West U Elementary Kindergarten Readiness requirements, West U Elementary Kindergarten curricula, and the top Pre-K curricula on the market.
Our teachers incorporate two research-backed curriculum into the play-based learning environment:
- Get Set for School from Learning Without Tears
- Blueprint for Early Literacy Pre-K curriculum supplement from Children’s Literacy Initiative.
Preschool Class
Younger Learners (Ages 3–4)
Our younger learners begin their school journey by building early skills in reading, writing, and numbers through songs, play, and hands-on activities. In the classroom, children practice important social skills as they grow from playing side-by-side to actively engaging with their friends.
Schedule Options:
- Monday–Friday (5 days)
- Monday/Wednesday/Friday (3 days)
- Tuesday/Thursday (2 days)
Hours: 9:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. (Ages 3-4)
Pre-K Class
Pre-K (Ages 4–5)
Our Pre-K students prepare for elementary school through fun, hands-on activities like writing, art, games, stories, and puzzles. Teachers guide them in project-based learning, helping children think, problem-solve, and explore creatively. Students also enjoy exciting topics such as cooking, nature, science, and gardening, building confidence and curiosity along the way.
Schedule:
- Monday–Friday
- Hours: 9:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. (Ages 4-5)
Beehive Summer Camp
Camp Beehive is a fun summer program led by our teachers for children ages 3-6 years (exceptions may be made for siblings). Choose one week or join us for the entire month! Camps run the first 4 weeks of June, check out the Camp Beehive link for more details.

Spanish Program - Early Drop Off
Spanish Immersion Class
Our Spanish class is taught by our director and is designed as a playful, age-appropriate immersion experience. Through songs, books, games, and simple conversational practice, children are introduced to Spanish in a fun and engaging way. The class supports preschool developmental levels, focusing on listening, speaking, and building confidence with a new language—no prior Spanish experience needed.
This class is before school from 8:00-9:00 am

Sparkle Studio After School Program
Sparkle Studio is a joyful after-school program where creativity shines! Children enjoy open-ended play, engaging art projects, and hands-on fun making yummy snacks. This relaxed, playful environment encourages imagination, independence, and creativity while winding down after a busy school day.Our team of experienced teachers are passionate about helping students reach their full potential. They provide individualized support and feedback to make sure each student succeeds.

buzzy parents and students
Parent involvement
A parent of each Beehive child volunteers in the classroom once or twice per month on a regular schedule. Parent volunteer days allow parents direct access to their child's education, the teachers, and other parents.
Parents assist the teachers throughout the day with a variety of assigned tasks, and have the opportunity to actively engage with their child and other students during learning activities and unstructured play.
